- Biographical Description
- Somerset County birth records of enslaved children contain a birth certificate for Jane, daughter of Jenny and Tom, born on 9 November 1807, enslaved by John Frelinghuysen. Jane's enslaver was living at the old Frelinghuysen homestead in Millstone at the time of her birth, but around 1810, he moved back to his main property in Bridgewater, now known as the historic General John Frelinghuysen House (in the present-day borough of Raritan). Presumably, Jane and her family moved to that house with Frelinghuysen.
