- Biographical Description
- Adam Quon was a Black man who lived in Mansfield in the late 18th century and was enslaved by Nathaniel Pope. Burlington County records indicate that Adam Quon was manumitted and released from slavery in 1786. His exact age was not recorded at the time of his manumission, but he was between 21 and 35 years old and was described as a "lad," suggesting that he was probably a young man in his 20s. Two of his family members, Sip Quon and Gabriel Quon, were also manumitted by the Pope family on the same day.
