- Somerset County birth records of enslaved children contain a birth certificate for Dinah, child of Betty, born on 12 January 1811. Dinah was born at the household of the widow Lemmetye Van Neste in Hillsborough. After Van Neste's death in 1816, Dinah and her mother and siblings lived with Van Neste's son-in-law John J. Schenck in the same township.
