- Biographical Description
- Rebecca Blackwood was the wife of Samuel Blackwood and resided in Gloucester County in the early 19th century. She died sometime in 1815 or earlier. She had inherited from her husband a Black girl named Rin or Marinda, and after Rebecca died, Rin was manumitted by the administrator of Rebecca's estate, Joseph O. Clarke. The manumission documents were filed in Deptford after Rebecca's death. This suggests that the Blackwoods were probably residents of Deptford, but their place of residence has not been definitively confirmed.
