William Tindall (1745–1816) was an enslaver who resided in West Windsor, NJ. He was the son of John Tindall and Elizabeth Hutchinson Tindall.
He served as the Justice of the Peace for the county in the early 19th century. In this official capacity, he issued manumission certificates for residents of West Windsor whose enslavers agreed to set them free.
He was also one of the executors of the will of Isaac Hutchinson (together with David Hutchinson) and handled matters related to the enslaved persons who were part of the Hutchinson estate.
He is not to be confused with his son William Tindall Jr. (1784-1877), who also served as a Justice of the Peace for Middlesex County after his father's death. - Keywords
