Henry Suydam was an enslaver who resided in New Jersey in the early 19th century, either in Middlesex County or possibly in another nearby county. According to a removal certificate filed in Middlesex County in 1818, Henry Suydam was the enslaver of a boy named Aaron, and he sold or otherwise transferred Aaron to an in-law of his named Stephen Mundy (Mundy was married to Ann Suydam whose exact relationship to Henry Suydam has not been confirmed). Stephen Mundy would then take Aaron away from New Jersey to New York State. From the 1818 document, it can be inferred that Henry Suydam was also the enslaver of Aaron's mother Peggy, although this fact is not explicitly stated in the document.
