Received June 17th, 1782 of Jacob Van Dike eight pounds and nine shillings proclamation money of New Jersey in full of our demand for ourselves & partners against him for apprehending his negro man Harry carried off by the followers of the British army in this year one thousand seven hundred & seventy six, as witness our hands, this said negro being apprehended with a detachment of the British army.
The words / for ourselves & partners / being first interlined & the word six wrote over the word seven erased.
