The locality of Three Mile Run is no longer present on any New Jersey map and is not recognized as a distinct community. Historical records that mention this name are referring to an early 18th-century community that centered on the Three Mile Run Church, which stood near the corner of present-day Somerset Street (Route 27) and Hampton Road. There remains an abandoned Three Mile Run cemetery at this site, adjacent to the (currently active) Shalom Hebrew Cemetery. Today this location is at the border of the City of New Brunswick, Middlesex County, and Franklin Township, Somerset County.
There is a replica of the Three Mile Run Church at the East Jersey Old Town Village, Middlesex County's collection of restored and replica historical buildings located in Johnson Park in Piscataway. - Locality
