- Biographical Description
- Henry Hall was a Black man who was held in the Middlesex County jail in 1799 under suspicion of being a runaway. He refused to give the jailer detailed information about where he came from. The jailer assessed, based on Henry's dialect, that he was likely from Maryland or Virginia and noted that Henry seemed accustomed to working in domestic service.
