The Following Abandonment Certificate was submitted to the Overseer of the Poor of the Township of Piscataway:

Mother: Hannah
Enslaver of Mother and Child: Rachel Boice
Abandonment Certificate Date: August 10, 1807
Child’s Date of Birth: December 2, 1806

This certificate indicates that the enslaver abandoned all her legal rights and title to the child and gave up the child to the Overseer of the Poor to be bound out as a pauper.
