- Biographical Description
-
Isaac Cubberly (or Cubberley) moved from Burlington County, New Jersey, to Staten Island in 1761. There he purchased a house at the foot of present-day New Dorp Lane, near Cedar Grove Avenue, in New Dorp Beach. This house is now part of Historic Richmond Town, where it is known as Britton Cottage #35 (listed in some historical preservation documents as Cubberly-Britton Cottage).
A runaway ad for Caesar, published by John Denton in 1780, mentions Cubberly and seems to suggest that Cubberly had some knowledge about Caesar and his disappearance. - Keywords
