- Biographical Description
- David was a free Black man who lived in Trenton, NJ, in the early 19th century and was known as "black David." It is uncertain whether David was born free or was freed later in life. He had a son named Tom, born circa 1783, who was enslaved by Jacob Stryker in Princeton, NJ. It appears that David may have helped his son run away in 1804. See Tom's freedom seeking event for details.
