Biographical Description
Han's baby was born around July 1797. The child and mother were enslaved by Isaac Van Saun in Preakness, New Jersey (then in Bergen County, and now present-day in Passaic County). When the child was only 9 months old, Han ran away from Isaac Van Saun and took the infant with her.

Information about this Black child comes from the runaway ad published by Isaac Van Saun in 1798. The ad did not indicate whether the baby was a boy or a girl.
