Description
Greenwich is a township in Cumberland County, New Jersey, located along the Delaware Bay and the Cohansey River. Greenwich was one of the original six precincts formed in Cumberland County when the county was first organized in 1748. After the American Revolution, it was incorporated as a township. The township's boundaries have held stable over the centuries, except for the annexation of two small areas in the eastern part of the township in 1845, when Greenwich acquired a section from Hopewell and another section from Stow Creek township.

The Greenwich Historic District, located along Ye Greate Street, is home to the Cumberland County Historical Society and multiple historical sites and properties dating to the 18th century.

Greenwich in Cumberland County is not to be confused with a township of the same name in Warren County in the northern part of New Jersey.
