David Dunham was a resident of Piscataway, Middlesex County, New Jersey. He was the son of Azariah Dunham (1718-1790) and Mary Tuxton. He was known as "Squire."
He served as the Justice of the Peace for the county in the early 19th century. In this official capacity, he issued manumission certificates for residents of Piscataway whose enslavers agreed to set them free.
