- Biographical Description
-
George McAroy was an enslaver who lived in the community of Cranberry (now spelled Cranbury), Middlesex County, NJ.
Note that during his lifetime in the 18th and early 19th centuries, Cranberry was not yet a separate municipality; it was a community located at the border of South Brunswick and South Amboy townships (South Amboy was then much larger than it is today and extended to the southern portion of the county). George McAroy's name comes up in Middlesex County records in connection with both South Brunswick and South Amboy townships. - Keywords
