Robert Kennedy was an enslaver who resided in Greenwich Township, NJ, in the early 19th century. When he died he had four enslaved people who were enumerated as part of his estate inventory.
He was a wagonmaster during the American Revolutionary War and an owner of a large property that included a mill and quarries. The property associated with him, known as Kennedy House and Mill, is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located on the north bank of the Pohatcong Creek in Greenwich Township in Warren County. Some structures on the property date to Robert Kennedy's time, while the main house was constructed by his son after his death. A woman named Dine, who was enslaved by Robert Kennedy, gave birth to her son Dave at this location. - Keywords
