- Biographical Description
- Elizabeth (also called Liz for short) was a Black woman who lived in Sussex County, New Jersey, in the early 19th century. She was enslaved by Daniel Predmore of Frankford, who died in 1815 and bequeathed Elizabeth and her two children to his wife, referred to as Mrs. Elizabeth Predmore (Sarah Elizabeth Predmore née Case). The names of Elizabeth's two older children are not mentioned in Predmore's will abstract. Shortly after the will was written, Elizabeth gave birth to another child named Harry.
