Event Description
Sussex County Births of Enslaved Children microfilm contains the following record:

Child: Henry
Mother: Liz
Enslaver of mother and child: Elizabeth Predmore, widow
Location: Sussex County (Locality not specified)
Birth date: May 9, 1815
Recorded date: November 27, 1815
Clerk: Green

Note that the date written on the back of the certificate by the County Clerk says filed Nov. 27, 1814, but this is judged to be a mistake. The front of the certificate says the child was born in May 1815, and, additionally, Mrs. Predmore became a widow in July 1815 (she would not have sent in a document as a widow in 1814). The certificate does not specify a locality, but the Predmores were known to be residents of Frankford, where Elizabeth's late husband Daniel died shortly before this certificate was filed. Thus it can be inferred that the child was born in Frankford.
