- Sussex County Births of Enslaved Children microfilm contains a birth record for Ester, daughter of Betty. Although the birth record does not list the name of Ester's father, most likely her father was a man named Nun, Betty's husband (who was recorded as the father of Ester's older brother Robert). Betty, Nun, and their children were all enslaved by a man named Abraham Shaver (or Shafer), the proprietor of the Shafer Grist Mill in Stillwell.
